In Memory of Ernesto Morales

I got word that an ol' Montalvo neighbor died.

Ernie was like an Uncle to my Brother Paul n' I growing up in Ventura California.

Potluck parties wouldn't have been complete without his homemade salsa n' tamales, not to mention his five daughters' 45 record collection (from James Brown to the Beatles).

Since Ernie had only girls he adopted 'Pablito' my brother. He'd invite us down to look at the planets through his telescope on clear nights... Paul soon had it focused on some neighbor's window, 'That's a nice moon you found Pablito.'

When the Moon Hits Your Eye...

It was my Dad's Birthday last week n' I wasn't able to go over to the Atlantic side n' hang out.

I usually make a seafood lasagna (that lasts him a month or two), then later we break out our instruments n' laugh 'til we cry.
